Antibiotic Guideline for the Treatment of Endocarditis:

Fully penicillin sensitive Viridans streptococci or Streptococcus bovis Endocarditis - prosthetic valve:

Benzylpenicillin IV 1.2g every four hours for six weeks plus Gentamicin IV 80 mg BD (monitor levels) for two weeks.

++All therapy and investigation should be discussed with Microbiology / Infectious Diseases.++
